DEWALT DC9144 Review: DEWALT DC9144 14.4-Volt XRP Lithium-Ion Battery. Dewalt has made a huge improvement in their battery packs, by switching to the lithium Ion type battery. I just used one for the first time yesterday. These packs are much more powerful, and run much longer than any other pack I've ever used. I spent the day replacing 120 batteries in a large Uninterruptible Power System, using a Dewalt drill to remove and replace all the battery hardware, and the associated hardware holding the batteries in the shelves.
